about

An unreleased cover of a French nursery rhyme "Frère Jacques." Mostly live recording.

Anders Melts - vocals, bass, drums
Kadri Sammel - keyboards

Andreas Sepp (DND) - guitar, back vocals, roly-poly toy

Most of the track is deliberately recorded live to maintain the authentic feel of the early 80’s. The idea for the piece was born during a jam session and it seemed so cool to recreate a known nursery rhyme in the concept of coldwave/minimal wave. As a cherry on top we decided to invite Annu aka Andreas Sepp from the depressive rock group DND to join the project. We left him a free hand to add some spice to the tune, weather it was hammering the anvil or making some thumping noises. So his mother-in-law conjured up a roly-poly toy from his companion’s childhood and so we had some clatter. He also decided to add the guitar and back vocals and we just couldn’t leave anything out and it was all added to the final mix. The initial idea was to make it to Rada7’s coldwave collection, but as it happens in life the plan got a bit jammed. So listen and have a good slumber!
